Lauren's Closet - Part Deux

Under the Dogwood Tree

Girl Next Door

Summa Summa Time

Punk Frock

Lauren and I switched roles this week as we took on her spring wardrobe in this beautiful weather we've had here in Charlotte!  We're pretty excited about how the pictures turned out.  Lauren has a closet full of really cute sun dresses that were fun to style and layer to meet her functional lifestyle.  In outfits one and two, we added some dimension by layering a solid over a fun print.  I love the flirty crop top over the blue dress paired with one of Lauren's JamesSioux necklaces.  Layering is also a good way to add some weight for the cooler spring weather.  For the last outfit, I wanted to dress down her lacy, date night dress with her Converse sneaks and punk rock belt.  It's a perfect outfit to transition from day to night on one of her busy days.

If you're like me with limited closet space, now is the time to switch your closet from fall/winter to spring/summer.  And remember that bin we filled with winter scarves, hats and gloves?  Switch those out for your bathing suits, cover ups and summer hats for easy access on pool, lake and beach days!

Make sure to check out Lauren's new Etsy site JamesSioux!  Her designs are unique and she's always down for a fun custom piece order!

What to Wear Wednesday

What to Wear Wednesday inspired by Sailor Moon - We're in the market for a yacht!

We're feeling pretty nautical on this sunny Wednesday in Charlotte!  Spring is here and it's time to bring out the sunscreen and the straw hats.  I love this Brixton hat I bought at the end of last season.  Their hats are really great quality and at a very reasonable price point!  This dress I've had for quite some time.  It makes me so happy every time I put it on, with the fun collar and pockets.  Hope everyone is having a great week! Styling the Basics - Nod & Rose Storehouse

Styling the Basics with the Nod & Rose Storehouse

Spent an unforgettable weekend in Boulder, CO visiting our amazing and very fashionable friends Nod and Elizabeth, curators and owners of the Nod & Rose Storehouse on Spruce Street. Elizabeth and I spent one morning styling and photographing some of the newest Spring arrivals to the store.  My goal was to showcase how three seemingly different clothing items could be combined to make one killer outfit but also provide several outfits as a stand alone piece too.  If you feel the need to make a clothing purchase think about how you can pair the item with other clothing items in your wardrobe.  I love to wear the heck out of something in as many combinations as possible!

Currently Available in the Storehouse: Top: Ace and Jig; Dress: Maison Scotch; Jacket: Nicholas K; Hat: Yellow 108; Sunglasses: Raen Optics; Lace Skirt: Chaser; White Flowy Dress: Black Crane
